The following rules apply to all forums. Forums with moderators may have additional rules; you should always abide by the following rules and the rules established by forum moderators when you post in the forums. The rules are usually posted as a 'sticky' and are on the top of the forum topics.

  1. No personal attacks against another person or attacks against this web site. Violation of this rule warrants the immediate expulsion of the offender from this web site.

  2. Replies to a topic must be relevant to the topic. Members, who consistently go off topic, thereby requiring moderators to remove their none-relevant posts on a frequent basis, will have their posting privileges revoked.

  3. Do not post topics that already exist. If what you have to say is already covered in another topic, DO NOT create a new topic. Instead, continue with the original topic. All similar topics will be removed and offender's posting privileges may be revoked.

  4. Each member is only allowed one account. Multiple accounts will be deleted summarily upon discovery.

  5. A member who posts messages in this forum for the sake of increasing his/her rank will be demoted in rank or his/her posting privileges suspended. Once the PRINCE OF DARKNESS decides that a member's substance of posts vs. number of posts ratio reaches an intolerable low level, he will summarily suspend the member's posting privileges.

  6. Do not post unsolicited commercial messages in the forums. Commercial messages will be deleted immediately when found and poster expelled from the forums.

The PRINCE OF DARKNESS reserves all rights to suspend, revoke, expel any member for any reasons he sees fit. The PRINCE OF DARKNESS does not need to explain the reason of any action he takes, the rules are sufficient explanation.

HAPPY POSTING!

We've had a spate of problems with posting and what is expected when posting, so I've put together this little guidance, and with POD's permission, I'll post it here. I’m sure that if he has anything else he would like to emphasize, he’ll make that known as well.

DON’T “POWER POST.” Posting short messages or basically the same message over and over again not only takes up unnecessary space, but does nothing but up your number of posts, which can get you banned. Think QUALITY rather than Quantity. Do you REALLY have something to say? Is what you have to say something that people might get something out of? Sure, we all post little nonsense posts from time to time, but when it’s done MOST of the time, it’s annoying for people to have to wade through to get to a post of substance that is in keeping with the thread of that individual forum.

KEEP ON TOPIC. If a thread is about one thing, don’t post about another... again, we all slip from time to time, but it’s bad etiquette, and it can be irritating for people who come to a topic to read things within the context of the subject on the folder.

DO NOT UPDATE YOUR POSTS. You can go in and correct spelling of a word or minor changes with the edit tools, but don’t update them with new information. If you have something else to say, make a new post. It’s irritating to go to a forum and see that there is an update in the topic and find that the same person has just changed SOMETHING in one of their other posts. It wastes their time and energy. I know that irritates me, and I know it irritates a lot of others.

DON’T POST IN TXT. If you have something to say, say it in longhand. If you don’t have time to do that, don’t post. People don’t always understand what TXT abbreviations are and they become irritating when you have to spend time trying to decipher someone’s personal codes... this isn’t a telephone.

You have the space to write out what you need to say clearly and in English.

BE CLEAR. Say what you need to say without being too cute about it. Playing little rhyming games, phonetic associations, etc., may be something you like to do, but most people don’t share your enthusiasm for them, especially when they are trying to read a thread that is of interest to them.

The same rules apply on the front page as they do in the forums. POD’s aware of things that go on in both places, and he doesn’t particularly care for “garbaging up the site.” There have been a lot of people over the years who’ve gone down that road, and guess what... we don’t see them around any longer.

The Prince of Darkness appreciates your enthusiasm for Radio Satan. We thrive on loyal listeners who enjoy the site and have a sense of ownership, but ask that you strive to keep it within the boundaries that are set. Read the Rules. You can find them at http://www.radiosatan666.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1659, the first post in this thread, by the Prince of Darkness. In the Forums, follow the rules of the individual Forum Moderators as well. In my forums, I insist on people posting in an adult and responsible manner. Mere’s Abyss is much less structured, and Steve’s Disturbing The Shit does its own thing its own way. But it’s up to you as a poster to be on track.

Radio Satan’s got a staff of DJs and Administrators who do a good job at keeping it together. We all appreciate your enthusiasm and your contributions, but if you follow the rules, you’ll be better read, better followed and indeed better respected by staff and other RadioSatanists as well.

One last tip... when The Prince of Darkness tells you something on line that he wants you to stop doing, it would be a good thing if you did just that! And challenging the Prince of Darkness to "ban you if he wants" will do nothing except make you dissapear quicker than Houdini's rabbit and make people who watch it happen laugh.
